SHRP2

Once upon a time I just watched the Sci-fi movies and then twice upon a time I thought what if it could come true and not only remains in movies. Today I. See it is actually coming true with an exciting progress towards a so-called machine age!I am researching on highway safety and crash analysis. Naturally I deal alot with data and safety related factors. I come across many challenges in my work and in my studies. Challenges such as what if the observable factors are not truly responsible for the crash occurrences and what in fact lies behind the visible scene is something related to human factor that does not provide visible evidence for a causal relationship with all the fatalities but an association with the visible measurable factors. Well the reason I am writing on these unobserved or latent safety related causes is that they are related to human factor. Recently I have come across a set of studies conducted on acquiring naturalistic data directly from humans' perspective of an accident about to occur on the roadway. The study is part of a bigger research project named SHRP2 and is so much fascinating to me that I decided to get involved in it and utilize its significantly beneficial data. Here is a link to the research website and I will write more on the issue and my progress on it.

Advisory Satire

The best advisor in the world is my advisor for sure. I will try to provide enough reasons and evidences to prove that to the prospect students. Make sure you choose your advisor who has the following traits just like mine:
- An advisor does not mean a boss, who would like to control you in every direction.
- An advisor takes you to lunch or dinner every once in a while to make sure about your living comfort.
- An advisor has the best managerial skills to direct you, as his/her advisee in the correct direction. keep in mind that the correct direction does not necessarily mean in the direction of what he knows, but the direction that will eventually reach an academic satisfaction.
- An advisor talks to you about your interests in life and not only about academics. This way he/she knows what your worldly ideology is and will better be able to help you.
- An advisor should have the ability to motivate you and always use words of encouragement.
- An advisor never scolds.
- An advisor always has a didactic attitude and usually knows to guide rhetorically.
- An advisor always keep your financial situation in mind so that will not be distracting issue for your curricular activities.
- An advisor has many other favorable characteristics that I cannot mention.

p.s. try to love your advisor so you will be prosperous.

Happy Birthday Jules Verne

I am not sure why I was always so much interested in French language! maybe it's because French was the international language at a time, or maybe it's because many of my favorite writers and philosophers are (or maybe better to say were) french.
Today is Jules Verne's birthday! well Happy Birthday Jules! I very well remember reading his science fiction books when I was very young and wonder about the universe and how big and tiny it might be from different perspectives. the first time some very peculiar event placed itself in my imagination was when you shoot a fish underwater, I mean down below the ocean, and the skin of the fish is so oily and flexible that whatever bullet it is it does not go through the skin and turns around in a quick way. I understand that it too inconceivable that one might think of it as a pure fantasy; but that was when the first sparks of imagination lit in my mind. That was from his book named "twenty thousands league under the sea". Then I read "journey to the center of the earth" for which the movie and the cartoon I saw later, "five weeks in a balloon" that took me to an adventure over Africa and the famous "around the world in eighty days"...
Happy Birthday Jules Verne
Undoubtedly, your soul will rest in peace as many people like me sends blessing to you for enlightening their minds.
